Biography

Elena Marie del Villar started her singing career in the silver state. She was born on January 13, 1983, in the entertainers mecca of the world, Las Vegas, Nevada. At the age of five, Elena demonstrated an insatiable desire to sing while in front of her family, and alone to entertain herself while watching her favorite Disney movies. At the age of seven, while visiting the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas, Elena got her first taste of performing in front of a live audience, while performing a Christmas song, accompanied by a pianist. It was at that time that Elena knew singing was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life!

While growing up in Las Vegas, Elena attended St. Francis de Sales grade school, and finished her first year of high school at Bishop Gorman High School. In 1997, when she auditioned for a play “Dorothy Meets Alice”, her phenomenal performance of “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” astounded the audience, and she was cast the leading role of Alice. During her freshman year of high school, Elena earned a place in Bishop Gorman’s talented “Harmony Express” show choir.

It was in the Harmony Express that Elena showcased her talented voice, while at times singing solo during many performances. It was also during her freshman year that she traveled with the Harmony Express to Anaheim, CA, to perform at Disneyland. After performing “Another Sad Love Song” for the Harmony Express “FM Night”, Elena received the “Best Performance Award”, as a highlight to her freshman year. In 1998, Elena moved with her family to Southern California, settling in Rancho Santa Margarita for the next eight years.

In the tenth grade, Elena was accepted into the highly regarded Santa Margarita Catholic High School, a nationally recognized blue-ribbon school. During her first two years at S.M.C.H.S., Elena was accepted into the schools advanced choir. Her first solo performance mesmerized the audience with her angelic rendition of “Ten Thousand Angels Cried”. It was also during this time that Elena visited the Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, CA, where she performed several times in front of a live audience. She was so well received, that the owner of the entertainment center invited her to perform there on a weekly basis.

In her senior year, Elena performed on many occasions as a soloist in the prestigious concert choir. Her last performance at S.M.C.H.S. was a night to remember. Her breathtaking rendition of “ Unbreak My Heart” brought the audience to tears, and she received a standing ovation! It was at the end of her senior year at a special ceremony that Elena was honored with the concert choir’s top award, the “Directors Award”.

Also, during her junior year, Elena attended the John Robert Powers modeling and talent agency. After singing one verse of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”, the director invited Elena to perform as a soloist, actress, and model in the International Modeling and Talent Association semiannual convention at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, CA, in January, 2000. After performing the song “Someone Like You” from the Broadway musical “Jekyll and Hyde”, Elena was chosen to sing in the Talent Showcase. She received third place honors in the solo competitions junior division. Over 3,000 people in the audience watched Elena perform, including a big time producer, and songwriter named Michael Jay, who contacted her after the performance, with the desire to work with her. Elena also received top awards for runway, TV beauty, and commercial print competitions. These appearances resulted in callbacks from over twenty seven model and talent agents and managers. From this list, Elena chose the prestigious Elite Modeling Management in Beverly Hills, CA. From this contract, Elena has appeared in three issues of “Teen Magazine”.

At the current age of thirty, Elena has continued to develop her singing skills, many comparing her voice to well known artists Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, Faith Hill, and LeAnn Rimes. Elena’s beautiful “alto” voice ranges significantly to a high “E” above middle “C”. Elena also enjoys writing poetry and music, watching movies, acting, and socializing with friends and family.

Because of her Catholic education, Elena considers herself to be religious, and attends church faithfully. She feels her faith in God and her love of music has given her internal strength to reach for her dreams. Elena’s primary motivation has long been to become an international singing sensation.
